  1. I'm also looking to start he bridge program in the fall. I did my lpn there and I like the school. It's very difficult but this is nursing school, right? Also, they really prep you for nclex which I appreciate.
  2. I'll just share my experience on here. Not sure if it will be any help to anyone. I studied for about 2 weeks. I used Saunders Nclex book with the online questions and I used the ATI Mentor app. I also watched a lot of you tube videos, especially "Picmonic" vids. I really felt like those were the most helpful for me. Computer shut off at 85 questions. 4 hours later did PVT, got good pop up. 2 days later, my license was posted on Board of Nursing website.
  3. I used Saunders comprehensive review and the rn mentor app. Good pop up 2 days ago with 85 questions, 20 sata. I did 100 questions each morning and 100 each evening before bed the week prior to taking nclex. I watched a few Picmonic vids on you tube on test taking strategies that were super helpful for me. I had a lot of prioritization, diet, delegation, no peds, a few ob, about 3 or 4 dose calc, about 5 med questions, none of those "put in order" type questions, infection control.... that's all I can think of. Good luck to all with whatever your future has in store for you!
  4. I don't think financial aid depends on your credit but I'm not sure. You can contact someone in financial aid and they're super helpful. They can answer all of your questions. Good luck!
  5. I'm from Chicago and I've been here 3 years. I hate florida personally but I don't want to move my kids back and forth so I'm toughing it out. The pay here sucks compared to what I'm used to. Everyone has a different opinion so I don't want to discourage you. Personally, I regret moving here but I love the school! I am in Tampa. Im learning so much and the staff is so helpful. So that's a plus.
  6. I feel the same way but I'm thinking it's not so much "lazy". I think it's more of a feeling of being burned out. Can't wait to squash these finals and have a 2 week break!
  7. My experience so far has been great! I'm loving it so far. The staff is super helpful and they genuinely want to see you succeed. As far as FA, not sure about additional sources for tuition. Good luck to you!
  8. Why thank you superchick! As far as class times for the ADN, I know it's very different because I have been told from the administration people that the LPN program is much more intense just because it's alot of info crammed at once. I have a friend that just started the ADN program and she only goes once or twice a week. I go 5 days a week 8+ hours each day. Sorry I wasn't much help And I already have all my RN prereq's so when I bridge over, I'll have those under my belt. I have lab twice a week. Not sure how often the ADN people go. Again, sorry I'm not much help on the ADN stuff.
  9. Whoa! Orlando?! And I thought Winter Haven was far! Lol. So far I'm pleased with the school. Had orientation Monday and I start tomorrow. I'm doing LPN but I have a friend doing ADN and so far the only difference is the schedules of course. I'm doing the day program. I start clinicals next week but for the ADN program they start 2nd quarter. Financial aid has been so helpful for me! It was a breeze and fairly quick. Everyone is so nice. If you have instagram follow me: nurse.lulu.2b I'm constantly updating pics and details regarding my experience as a nursing student at Galen. Good Luck to you!
  10. Which program are you going to be in if you don't mind me asking?
  11. I'm in the PN program so it can very well be different as far as online classes. There are no online classes offered to me. The syllabi is offered online on the Galen site but they are subject to change per the instructors. Here's the link: Campus Syllabi – Resource Center
  12. I did get accepted and had my enrollment appointment last week. At the appointment, they basically went over my financial aid package, I got to try on scrubs, and take my pic for my student i.d. Also, I got my voucher for the CPR certification, immunizations and drug test. I believe orientation is on September 26th but I would double check that. Schedules should be posted to the portal towards the end of this month, so very soon.
  13. Hey, I started a thread for Galen Fall 2016 students if you wanna check it out.
  14. Did you get your schedule yet or know when orientation is going to be? I'll be starting the PN program in September.
  15. I just wanted to start a thread for Fall 2016 at Galen. I'm planning to start in September (assuming I get my acceptance letter soon). So far, I'm loving this school's customer service compared to Polk state where I'm coming from. Very helpful, my credits will be transferring over, very proactive; I'm pleased for the most part. Feel free to jump on this thread!
