Anyone attending NHCTC-Berlin?

U.S.A. New Hampshire

Hi,

I'm a new LNA (today!), seeking a second career (plus being mother of college kids, and wife, and husband's office manager for our business) as eventually an RN. I am finishing gen-ed requirements in Berlin while waiting to hear about acceptance for the Fall 2006 nursing class. Anyone else up here on the Canadian border near Colebrook/Pittsburg?

I guess I'll try to remember what I sent previousl! :-( Anyayy, yes, I have Ribner for A & P. I had her for microbiology, too, which I took in the summer (were you in my class? :-) I think she's great---I don't want to be spoon-fed, I want to learn---and I get along with her just fine, really enjoy her classes.

I did my LNA training through Deb Cardin (Care Services of Milan) and we did clinicals at St. V de Paul. I thought she taught an excellent course.

I lived in Lancaster only 4 miles from Weeks---moved last year---too bad I didn't do the nursing thing at that time, huh? Ah, well, sigh...

Thanks for all your input. I'm sure I will have lots of questions as I head into this thing---I appreaciate your support!

Good luck with your own studies and work. Write again soon!

omg yas i was. i was the loud obnoxious one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and i think i know who you are but i can't remember your name. do you have really long hair

Yes, that's me (Deb)! LOLOL! And you must be Heather (or April), right? LOL! And just re-read my last post with the atrocious typos in it---I just did a couple of 11-7's and must be a bit brain-fogged.

Anyway, nice to reacquaint with you, and I'll see you at some point, I'm sure. And thanks again for the input, and the offer to input more as I need it!

BTW, were you real nervous the first "real" day as an LPN? Did you have any nursing-type experience prior to that?

Bye!

yes it is heather!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i was the secretary on med surg for 4 years but had no nursing experience. i was really nervous my first day but i had an excellent preceptor and am doing pretty well now. one bit of advice, don't get caught up in the negative things you hear about AVH. the truth is, is that it is the most acute and difficult hospital of all the rotations. take advantage of that because you will get your best experience there. good luck!

heather

sorry i forgot your name deb

we finally got full custody

I got the information online...

I was searching for accredited nursing programs in NH and NHCTC-Berlin was not one of em... NHTI-Concord was.

I didnt mean to post mis-information... that was just what I saw :o sorry guys

I've submitted an email to the address given on NHCTC-Berlin's nursing profile page.....

hopefully I get a response or info... or a phone call to set up an appt.

I am just confused that if it is just as accredited as the other program in NHTI-Concord, howcome there are a few less courses needed for the AS degree?

Perhaps that is for the advisor to answer....

I would be very excited if the program was as accredited as the other, a lot less traveling, and less pressed for time!!!

the program used to have too many cresits so some of the courses weere combined into nursing lecture. don't strees about this acrreditation thing. i go to berlin and i passed my boards first try with the minimum number of questions.

Wow! thats great!

I hope I can do as well as that!

That makes me very excited, because I would love to not have to travel 2 hours, to do hours of class time, then hours of clinical, then drive home 2 more hours!!
