I am a pre-Surgical Tech student there, taking Psych this summer but starting a full-time year in the fall. I was wondering specifically if anyone has had any experience with the A&P or Microbiology instructors, who to avoid, who is a good teacher...I have heard scary rumors that the science dept. was told to be particularly hard on the pre-nursing/allied health students!
I want to begin my program with the best possible foundation. I am in school to learn as much as I can, not looking to just skate by, but I don't want to end up in a class with a prof who had been specifically instructed to make my life he** for the semester.
This fall is just Intro to Bio (BIO 110), but I have to take the other sciences in the spring/summer.
Thanks for any advice for a newbie!
Hello,
I am a pre-surgical tech student at GTCC, and was wondering if anybody out there is actually in the program or has recently completed it? I really would just like some insight...what to expect, is it tough??? Mainly, I would like to know if you're hired on where you do your clinicals and most of all, what the starting pay is, Considering your not certified yet. I've also heard that it's 100%...is that true? I know that's a lot of questions but any info will help. Thanks in advance.

To Heather B SST- you are a lot of help BUT I have asked MANY advisors, instructors and supervisors what the schedule was for just the nursing classes minus the clinic in the evening weekend program. They act like they cant tell me. I was told by a staff member that they don't want to tell me because then I will "hold them to what they said". I just need an average ie: first semester Mon 3-8 Wed 5-7, and so on and so on. I just need to know if my job is going to be an issue. NO ONE HAS BEEN ABLE TO GIVE ME AN ANSWER.
I will have all credits except nursing so I feel that I can handle the schedule but????? Any help??
