has anyone been asked to meet with director of anstheology prior to employment?

I had an interview with a manager of a CTICU a couple of weeks ago. She called me today to tell me that she wants me to meet up with director of anstheology first. So wondering if this is a normal process or what it is about? Has anyone interviewed with director of antheology before?

Could be that Anesthesia runs the ICU (They can be critical care fellowshipped) and that they hire taking into account the medical director's input of the applicant.

yeah that's what i think it is. I googled the name and he is the director of the unit.
