Hello everyone,

I applied for the full time program for August of 2012 and was accepted but due to financial reasons couldn't start at the time. I'm now in a better position and have a full-time stable job so I can do the program part-time now. I already done my HESI and Tabe so I don't have to worry about anything except: reapply, drug screen, references, and interview. Everything is ago, just trying to find stable child care for the class and clinical schedule. Is anyone else applying for the program for October 2013 start?

Hello Cynt87, Teco's LPN program is a very good program. Their Nclex pass rate is very high. It is said to start in Oct. Evenings Mon. Tues. and Thurs. 530 to 930 and clinicals would be 2 weekends a month- sat. and sun. I think 630 to 330. The dead line to apply is the end of August. They no longer do the Teas they do the Hesi exam. As for daycare I'm not sure, previously someone said something about one in Dr.Phillips I live in St. Cloud. But in my opinion you can never go wrong with La petite!

Daesha87 thanks. Have you taken the HESI yet?

Hmmmm im debating now should i just go ahead and take the HESI exam or just wait until January to test for the LT tech program, i totally need to brush up on my math and sciences its been 8 years!!! LOL plus i have a 1 month old.... hmmm decisions decisions.

Hi Cynt87,

As Daesha87 said, TECO has a very good program. I have to take the part-time class myself because I have a 3 year old son and currently work full-time. I do have childcare for him. I met her at church actually and she is willing to work with my schedule for school. The daycare I take him too during the day, she doesn't work past 6:30. If you are interested, I can give you her number if you would like to speak to her? She works at a local daycare here in Kissimmee and does children's church at the church I attend in Kissimmee-City of Life Church. As far as everything else, the HESI wasn't too bad. I recommended to someone else to buy the McGraw-Hill Nursing Entrance Exam book to study and the Math for Nurses book from Kaplan. Excellent resources to study for both the HESI and the TEAS. My understanding now is that they are adding Biology to the HESI this year. I took the HESI last year so I didn't have to take that part. Wish you the best of luck. Any additional information you need just PM me.

Ok thanks for the advice I will definitely look into those books, and refresh on my medical terminology. I have an old book from my CNA class. So do you plan to work?

Yes, I have to work. I currently work at my job full-time. I was even thinking to do something PRN during the weekend to supplement my income for school and childcare-we shall see how that goes...

Cynt87....I have taken the hesi but need to retake it didn't pass the grammar section....not my strongest subject. It's really not that hard. You would need to pass every section with an 80%. Biology with at least 50%. The test is vocab, math, grammar, reading and comprehension, and biology. Congrats on just having your baby :-).

Nathifslr26, I just started attending City of Life! Yea I need to work too I have a 5yr old although I do have help I still have bills to pay. I currently work full time to but I haven't really figured out my working situation yet!

That's awesome. What service time do you attend? I usually go at 12. I may be going to the earlier service though because I will be going to my old church too. What are your work hours?

Yea we usually go to the 9a.m. service. I'm a CNA at a Nursing home/Rehabilitation center. I work the overnight shift. 11 to 730. I know i will keep these hours probably just change my days, they will work with me around school.
