Hi I was just wondering if anyone is applying to saddleback college for spring 07. We can share our thoughts and make the waiting a little more pleasant. In my case is going to be the longest of my life !!!!
Do you know someone allready accepted in the program or how many people actually get in with A's and also B's ? Or they really just accept straight A's?
You mentioned you have a 4.0 in bio. What does that mean? If you have a 4.0 in all three bio classes (anatomy, physiology, and microbiology) and you have a 3.5 overall gpa, you have a pretty good chance at walking right into the program. Your 4.0 last semester wont matter. Its your gpa from the most recent transcript that has a minimum of 12 units taken. So assuming all the above is correct, you would have 5 points each for the three bio classes and then 2 points for a 3.5-3.99 gpa... this would give you 17 out of the 18 total maximum points and a VERY strong contender.

hi wildemel! thanks for your reply. yes I got A's in anatomy, physiology, and microbiology. What i meant with my last semester gpa is my gpa from the most recent semester (fall 09).
I'm no admission counselor, but its safe to say you are in. I called them over the summer and they said that people with a "16 and above basically walk right in". I'm at 16... the typical cutoff... super nervous. If we dont get in, the application process is completely different starting for Spring 2011 applicants... not sure if thats a good or bad thing yet.
Hello!
I'm helping a friend apply to nursing schools in the area and he too applied to Saddleback College for Fall 2010.
I'm interested in the Academic Score System and total points that prospective students are being assigned. Per the website they take only:
Anatomy (4 units)
Physiology (4 units)
Microbiology (5 units)
and GPA from the most recent transcript with 12 units or more
On another page, it also lists English 1A as a prereq course (3 units) for a total of 16 units.
So.. I'm confused as to the total amount of points a person is given... 16? 18?
If anyone can clarify for me, I'd greatly appreciate it! :)
Thank you!
Total points is 18.. English is not counted in the equation. 5 points for each A in micro, physio, anatomy. 3 points for a B. 3 points for a 4.0, 2 points for a 3.5-3.99. I'm not sure of grades lower than a B or gpa's below a 3.5... if that is your friends situation, then he will be let in by lottery and not the academic system.

hello there, I also applied for their Fall 10 rn program.. I just want to ask what are my chances to get in? I have a 4.0 on my bio and 4.0 on my last semester gpa. However, my over-all college gpa is 3.5,and that is because of my previous classes that i had C's on..
