Anyone applying at Sac City or American River College?

Published

I'm going to apply to ARC and Sac City this semester for the RN program. I've heard there are a lot of applicants for the program and it's difficult to get in. Just was wondering if you've applied to either of these programs and if you were accepted how many times it took you to get in?

Hi, I have applied 4 times to both SSC and ARC, this year I got denied for SSC but got selected as an alternate for ARC. I have a low number so I have good hopes for getting in this fall. I have read on ARCs website that there were over 1100 applicants and 7th semester applicants this year. It is pretty depressing, but the time went by fast, I pursued another healthcare profession and now I work at a hospital, so hopefully I will get a nursing job fairly easy when I am done with school = and they are very supportive of me going to school. Good luck!

When did you hear about ARC? I have applied at Sierra, Sac State, ARC, and SCC. I recieved an email from SCC that was a little confusing. Basically it told me that I was elligible to reapply next semester, which I found to be a strange way to announce that I didn't get in. I have heard nothing from ARC at all, and I have looked at the website and I don't see any new information regarding Fall 2011.

I received my rejection email from ARC on Wednesday. Boo. Everyone always talks about the "lottery" as if it's really not random. I am here to attest to the fact that it IS for sure random. I have amazing grades, I tutor the nursing prereqs, and I have a killer TEAS score, and I was not selected. So I guarantee that the process is as random as they claim it to be. I guess I will continue to wait and hope on Sac State and Sierra. =)
