Anyone applying to Holmes and Hinds for August 09?

Hey guys. I was a little devastated when I was placed on the alternate list for UMC's accelerated BSN program. I thought being an alternate was ok until I was told all of the remaining 69 people who did not get accepted are on the list. So...I am on to plan B. I am going to work towards my ADN and then do a bridge to BSN. I already have a BA and was working towards the BSN so I have extra pre reqs already. Anyway, I wanted to know if anyone else is applying to Holmes Ridgeland campus for August or Hinds? If so...HELLO!!!!:D:D:D:D

LOL, always fun waiting. Are you trying for Hinds or Holmes? I called Holmes and they said for there LPN it's based on ACT scores and all this other stuff. It just seemed easier to get into Hinds, even if I have to wait until Janurary.

I am applying to Holmes and Hinds for their ADN programs. I hear the ADN program is based on grades and ACT scores. I took the ACT in 1995. I agree, from what I hear about how they rank students, even for the ADN program Hinds does sound like an easier bet...

The woman I spoke to yesterday at Holmes said for the LPN a 16 (I believe it was) on the ACT was a minimum they would take. She also said it should be alot higher if I want to get in. I'm not sure about Hinds ADN program, I know there were a couple of girls in the Raymond campus Monday taking their NET tests. O yea the woman at Holmes also said that they already have 400 people that have applied for there LPN program. Too much for me, I'll stick with Hinds.

WOW! 400 people? Geez!!! That is some stiff competition there! I hope there are not 400 ADN applicants. I'll bet there are. UGH! I guess we just have to think positively.

I'm sorry I didn't mean to worry you about the amount of people applying. I will think positive too...

Nah, you didn't worry me. It is ok. I am sure there will be a lot of applicants. If we are strong enough and God willing, we will get in! :)

I hope so, I really want to get in and become an LPN... We will see soon enough. Did you already apply? I know the deadline for Hinds is the 31st? They're supposed to be sending out letters in April...

I applied to Holmes and Hinds last month after I found out I was waitlisted for the Accelerated BSN program at UMC. I see on here that last year people were notified around April 18th or so for Holmes and then others were saying even earlier for Hinds. They did not say a date just that they found out earlier than Holmes and they were shocked since the dealine was later. So...I am thinking we should know by mid to late April...

I hope so... I may go this Friday to there orientation they have the first friday of every month at the ]Nursing Allied Health Center for Hinds.. Which campus did you apply for?

Allied Health Center in Jackson. I am from Canton so it would be a hike but...I would really like to get accepted to Holmes b/c it would be so much more convenient. At this point, I just want to get accepted...:) Is that where you applied? Where do you live?

Yes, you are about ten minutes from my parent's house where I will be. Are you from Ridgeland?
