Anyone applying to Charles Drew ELMSN track for spring 2015?

Just on here to see if anyone is applying to Charles Drew ELMSN this upcomming Spring 2015? I will be attending this program in January 2015 and am a little excited. If there are any graduates or current students attending, is it possible if you can share your experiences there? What are some red flags we should look out for and any advice would be very helfpul! :) Im glad this site came about so we can all come together and share our experiences through this journey. Thank you so much!

Hi @nbtuifua! I applied but I haven't heard back yet. Getting a little nervous because Charles Drew is my first choice. How long after applying did they give you a response?

Hi nbtuifua, congrats on acceptance. I am still waiting for the final response. I interviewed Wednesday, October 1st, I am not sure if I made the cut. But I am hopeful.

Hi Nursing90063, I am in the waiting game with you. My undergrad GPA is terrible so its hard to know how this will turn out for me. Which other schools have you applied to? Did you interview?

Congrats on the interview! GPA doesn't always tell the whole story so I'm sure you rocked it. I didn't know they were conducting interviews... did you apply by the Sep. 1 deadline or earlier? How long after submitting did they contact you? Sorry so many questions. Haha I applied Sep 1 so it's only been a month. As for other schools, I'm applying to USF, Western, and hopefully CSLA. Charles Drew is my first choice though, so I'm eager to hear from them! :)

Thanks ;) My file was officially complete and reviewed by the admission counselor by 8/28. They sent emails on 09/30 offering interviews for 10/1-10/3. I had heard in the past that interviews only occured for questionable applicants... I was told in the interview that the acceptance/rejection letters would be mailed out by next week. Drew is my first choice as well.

Awesome! It seems like their turn around is pretty quick, unlike other schools. I didn't get an interview invitation so I guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens. I haven't e-mailed my counselor yet because I'm sure they get tons of e-mails. Ahh the waiting game. Where else are you applying?

The waiting is killing me! I called yesterday and couldn't get any info... I also applied to Azusa, National University, LAVC, and LATTC. I was already rejected from Azusa, I need additional pre reqs for National, so its just Drew, LATT, and LAVC. I am still unsure if the MSN direct is the best route. I am really nervous about the cost. I want to be a NP so if I were to get in the Drew program I still have to complete a NP specialist program after. There are many ADN to NP prgrams which dramatically decrease the education cost, but I figure at this point I have done all I can and will end up exactly where I am suppose to be. I plan to take pathophysiology online in a couple weeks to get ahead, Butler College online has some cool nurse course offerings, they may not be transferable but I am trying to put my energy into studying so the waiting doesnt kill me. What about you, where else have you applied? What are your long term oals with nursing school?

No word yet for me either... I guess I just have to be patient. haha. If you applied to Charles Drew, I'm sure you can apply to Western too, they have similar requirements. National and Azusa for me would require additional classes =/! If only they all required the same pre-reqs. I applied to Western, USF, and planning on applying to CSULA. My goal is to be an NP also. :)

hi! have you heard back from DREW? I just heard from them today..I am on a waiting list for Fall 2015. I originally applied for Spring 2015, but was neither rejected for accepted. Put on a waiting its for Spring 2015, and if I don't get it then, I will be on the wait list for Fall 2015.

Curious to hear your story, or if you have heard back from them!

Have you heard back from DREW? I heard back from them today, and I was put on a waiting list for Spring 2015. If nobody drops, then I will go on the wait list for Fall 2015. Curious to talk to other students who applied for Spring 2015, and see if they have heard back from DREW? Also, did you take the GRE? How did you do? I haven't taken yet..you only have to prove to Drew you will have the test done by the time school starts.

How did you think your interview went? Mine was way less formal than I expected.
