Anyone applying to charity PN program for Fall 2015?

Published

Hi. I was wondering if anyone was applying to the PN program at delgado in May for Fall 2015. I feel like im alone and really wanted to find other students going the same route as I am? If you are why did you decide to go the LPN route? and what are your plans after finishing? Doing LPN-RN bridge or staying a LPN?

Honesty, It's not a difficult test. You just have to prepare yourself. The most difficult sections for me were a&p and biology only because the book doesn't go in depth too much on the questions that are asked. I have been studying to retake it again. This time around I'll be prepared because now I know what to study for anatomy. But for PN my hesi score is 77 and I didn't study much for biology at all. I focused on math and vocabulary.

Hello I am from California and looking at the LVN-RN transition option at Delgado, because all programs are either not offered or VERY impacted where I live (san francisco). Does anyone have any information on this program? I am already a student at Delgado (I take online courses), and am interested in how the program is. It looks as though we need to have many if not all of our general courses out of the way, so does this mean we start as a third year student?

Also, what is the point system you are referring to?

I believe you have 3 options to choose from on which level student you would begin as. Check out the charity home page under lpn to rn transition.

Has anyone noticed that the profile sheet has changed?

Yes I have noticed that they added the hesi

Hey, i retake the math section of the compass tomorrow. Any helpful information would be appreciated @Aabby

I used math.com for the math portion of the compass. I studied for pre algebra and algebra. Its not a difficult test I studied for about a week.

Thanks. Math.com helped me and I actually scored higher than I did on my first try last year. Now with this new profile sheet im at an 85. I'm considering taking the Hesi again to get to a 90. The hesi that I've taken has chemistry included and they won't subtract the Chem section to total a 77, they only look at your composite score which sucks. So I only get 10 points for the hesi section.

Congratulations! Hopefully we'll both get accepted this time around. Do you know when we will find out if we're accepted?

Thank you. I'm more confident this time around, I have completed DTMP 101 and did some extra things to improve my score. Last year we found out on July 1st, which is longer than normal for the program. In the previous years it's taken only 3 weeks. I will ask on tomorrow. I plan on going up there to ask that question. I hope it doesn't take 5-6 weeks like last year. I'm praying I get accepted this time. We will get in this time I'm sure.

We will find out within 2 months of submitting our application.
