Hi, has anyone received their acceptance letter from Armstrong Atlantic State University for Spring 2013 entry?
I was trying to wait and see if I am accepted at AASU before applying to Coastal College. I will have to retake the TEAS before applying. I scored proficient but missed the national average by 1 point. My score was low (had a killer migraine) so I'm sure I can do better. Thanks for the information.
I have several friends who go to CCG, in the nursing program, and they all love it. They say that the nursing program is not as strict about certain things that are unrelated to clinicals. I considered it but I'd be a third generation nurse out of Armstrong, I'm so used to going to Armstrong, and I live in Pooler so it would be a terribly long drive. :) If I don't get in, my family may be moving to Dahlonega so I'd probably apply to North Georgia. But I hear they are really tough to get into also, even though they are an ASN program. Infact, I called NG and was told that maybe I could retake my TEAS... I have an advanced score of 79.3 on my TEAS (and have already taken it twice) so that seemed a little ridiculous to me!!! I am just praying that I get into this program!!!! I didn't get a letter today so I guess that is a plus. lol I don't know. But, I looked at the calendar and tomorrow is 4 weeks since applications were due so I can't imagine it would take beyond this week to get acceptance emails out. The applications said 3-4 weeks. Hahaha, I am also not in school right now and a stay-at-home mom so I have way too much time on my hands right now that I am kind of obsessed with wanting to know if I got in. I am just so ready to get back to studying all day.. that sounds crazy but I miss school after taking a semester off. :)
I'm with you Tlizotte, my husband is in the Army and we have three girls (11, 8, 2) and I won't be working either. My husband is actually going to Dahlonega for a little while and I'll be staying here keeping our house and taking care of the kids on my own (full time job in itself). But I agree, it will be so tough that I would rather not work for at least the first semester or two. I do plan on working during my last semester as a PCT in the hospital. I have heard it is a great way to get a job. Either that or possibly do an externship in the area that I am most interested in. Do either of you know which area you want to go into after you become a nurse?
I am saving as much as I can to keep from working once starting the program. I too plan on getting a PCT job the last year in the program. I just want to pick up a shift or two. As far as area, I think labor and delivery or psych. I am excited about clinical rotations so I can get a feel of the many different areas.
