anyone already in health field? question

Hi all, i just decided to drop my question here in hopes for some insight. im a pre nursing student and i have finally decided to take up a program at this tech school down the street from me. im currently a waitress and i just had my 2nd kid, so with school, and kids, i need better income. i want no major distraction once i enter my nursing program.

all that said, i have choice in learning the Cardiovascular Technican program (which will teach phelomboty, ekgs, stress tests etc) or Dialysis tech both programs are around 6 months and 13k(which i didnt think was that bad, thats one semester in my college) both pay around the same so thats not really my concern either. im more worried about demand.

the school also has surgical tech and medical assistant, but im not really intrested in those.

so ANY insight would be helpful, as far as job advancement, high(or low) demand etc

sidenote: i wanted to do CNA but i have to pay out of pocket for the 4 week course and cant afford it.

It's hard to say what to pick. Are you more interested in cardiovascular or renal? That's where I would start. Are you doing this until you get through nursing school? It says in your post you are starting a nursing program. If that's the case, I believe you can start working as a CNA while you are enrolled (typically 2nd semester where I am from). Good luck!

im way more interested in cardiovascular studies, but i do have interest in dialysis, and i was there when my mom was going through it.

i cant start my nursing program till spring of nxt year, so i was looking to get some skill now in meantime.

Well if it were me, I would google both jobs (pay scale website specific for your area) then go on a job search engine (like indeed.com) and see which job has more openings listed. That would give you a better idea for job security.
