Hello, I recently found out that I was accepted for August 1 start. :heartbeat Is there anyone else out there? I think I am 95% sure that i will be attending but this is the only school I heard back from so far. Just wanted to talk with some of you to piece some of the info together! :lol2:

i went for my teas exam today and right after i sat down with pattie and i got ACCEPTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i couldnt be happier, now i have to hurry and tr to get my paper work printed from online and send everything in. is that we all have to do for august besides uniform? has anyone ordered the uniform yet?

:dancgrp:

JPK!! YIPPIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so happy for you! I knew you'd make it!

1) Yes, you should go onto the website and print the necessary forms for your doctor to fill out. Don't delay bc that was a huge headache for me back and forth to the doctor bc you need the tuberculosis and start Hep B if you haven't had it and they need to do blood work to make sure you've had all of the other necessary childhood immuizations done.

2) You need to get your BLS Basic Life Support class done do it in June bc it needs to be valid until june 2013. I went to the American Heart Association last week and when they printed the card it says good through may 2013 so I will have to go back sometime in may 2013 to renew.( I met another one of our classmates while I was there.)

3. Uniforms I haven't done yet bc Central Uniforms said they are getting in a new pant, that RMH SON just approved, this week that is a much better fit and nicer than past years so I am waiting until they come in.

Congrats again!

Congrats Jpk!!! I am so happy you and for all of us!!!! Orientation day will be here before you know it...looking forward to meeting all of you then!!

Hey, jayden...I'm scheduled to take my BLS class in June...how was it? Do I need to study/prepare ahead of time for if or was it a pretty easy course to take....the class description mentioned there is a written examination with a minimum of 84% required, that kinda made me nervous when I heard that...was it the same for you, if so how was it??

Yes, I was also nervous coming in but it's pretty laid back. No need to study they tell u everything u need to. If they tell you anything that has a number in it remember it. There are 25 questions on the exam and it's questions like this... What is the rate of compressions on adults, children and babies? Ans. Is the same for all 100 compression per min. Ques. What is the ratio of compressions to breaths for infants during 2 person rescue? 15:2 and for adults 30:2. The video and the instructors tell u everything that u need to know. We had one girl who didn't get 84% and they just sat down with her and explained the questions and she still got a card. They don't fail anyone u just get remediation and they still give u a Card. Hope this helps. Sorry about typos typing quickly

thank you nurse betty, i am so excited and nervous and know we all will do just fine it will be a hard 21 months but well worth it!!

jayden, where did you go to do ur BLS? do i need to sign up early?

by the way my names Jessica, im so excited to meet you all!

I went to Montgomery Hospital for the BLS l. Yes I would sign up now the classes do fill up fast. But you do have all summer so it's up to u.

Thanks for that jayden!! What a sigh of relief!

You know I tried to create a page on facebook for our class of 2013 but I was having trouble...it wouldn't let me beyond after I added my name to the group...I'm kinda new to facebook so I don't know if I'm doing something wrong...

What degree do you come out with at the end of the 21 months? I saw someone mention transferring to Jefferson. Is Roxborough a BSN program?

No, Roxborough is an RN diploma program however they have a dual admission with Jeff. Many of us will transfer to Jeff for the BSN after we are already working as RNs.
