You will definitely miss family and friends but it's a sacrifice you'll just have to decide you're willing to make or not. The best time to start would be after the holidays. You'll have had your fill of family for awhile :-). Holidays are by far the worst but if you can get assignments close to home during holidays, the rest of the year is a cake walk.
I would like to start the new year traveling. I work in Chicago, I am 23 years old and currently have about 16 months experience on a Hem-Oncology floor that specializes in BMT & I am chemo certified. I am looking to start an assignment in mid-January or February...whenever I can get the heck outta here! I seriously need a change and travel nursing is something I've wanted to do for years!

I'd love to pursue travel nursing and have spoken with a recruiter that I really like and everything sounds great. The only thing holding me back now is that I know I'll really miss my friends and family! :)
