FCC charges $1,800 for the CNA course. The Red Cross chapter in Baltimore charges $925 and is 6 weeks long instead of one semester.
I have just started prereqs for their nursing program. The very first course in the nursing program is NU101, which is one semester long. Once that is completed, per Paul Hunter who runs the program, students can take the CNA test. I am hoping, if all goes well, to be a nursing student in the spring of 2012 then perhaps a CNA that summer.
Hi!! I live in Maryland too..but I'm Prince George's County. CNA programs at community colleges tend to be really expensive I looked into Anne Arundel's program and it was like $1400! And PG's program was about $1100. Ugh... But I went to a freestanding program & it was $925. Did you check the MBON website? There might be other CNA classes in your county besides the one at the college. Here's the link http://www.mbon.org/cna/approved_na_training_programs.pdf
