Anybody attending UT Health & Science in Houston

Published

I am applying to University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston for the Fall 2012 semester. I understand that they are no longer going to be conducting interviews, and they do not have a student/personal statement on the application. So apparently they are now just going to accept based off of scores. The lady I spoke to said that they look at every application, and that they just don't take the top 10%. But how can they differentiate a person if all they are requesting is your scores? I am curious if my scores and GPA will be good enough. My current GPA will be 3.8 at the application deadline with the community college I am attending. I attended many years ago one semester of schooling that I did terribly at, although I tried. I just wasn't ready then. It will bring my overall GPA down to 3.35 when that semester is calculated in. My Science GPA is a 4.0 though. Now I have retaken the courses with a D or lower, and from what I have been able to find they will see my most recent grade, but the old grade is still used to calculate GPA. Is that correct? As for the HESI V I got an overall of 87.86% which was greater than the overall average. I got nothing less than an 80%, which happened to be my Anatomy :uhoh3: Any advice or input would be greatly appreciated. I know many people pursuing their BSN, but I have yet to know anybody who has gotten into UT health and Science center, just those who have gotten into UTMB Galveston. I am really stressing because I know I am above the minimum and that my scores above the "competitive" level, or so they said at the information sessions.

THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!! :D
