I've done 3 years of my undergrad at WSU and I'll be starting the traditional BSN program this fall there as well. Anyone else in the same boat as me, or are any of you folks graduates from WSU? Just curious.

I graduated from there with a B.A. in English in 2000. Thankfully alot of my credits there transferred to HFCC where I will start my ADN in Fall 07. I looked into their fasttrack, second career nursing program there but I didn't want to do all the science classes. I do not like Chem and there a few of those classes. When do u start your program?
WSU's credits transfer very well to HFCC because they'll eat up anybody they can from the area. I bet they will transfer 99% of credits from U of M Dearborn lol.
My program officially starts on September 6th. It's only 3 days/week and I live in DH, and I have 2 friends locally in the program as well. We're going to carpool, which means I only have to drive a handful of times each month. That definitely beats my 6 days/week schedule from last winter semester!

I have a friend that transferred to WSU from Wayne Co. CC. She starts in September in WSU's nursing program. I am very interested in applying to that school. How is the application process and the competition on getting in? I have a 3.32 GPA, but am redoing a class to bring that up. I am also taking the chem's, one this semester and one in winter. WSU said I have until June 1st, to turn in those transcripts to apply for Fall of 07. Comparing the program at WSU to Wayne County CC, WSU's schedule seems a whole lot less hectic. How is going for you all in the program?
Just curious, what do you mean HFCC will eat up anyone's credits from the area? I am applying to their program as well as WSU and WCCCD's programs to keep my options better. I have an appointment at HFCC tomorrow morning with an advisor.
The application process is pretty simple. Once you turn in your application, you have to write a goal statement (personal essay). I have a 3.31 right now and I got in, but I also did volunteering at VA Hospital and Children's hospital and I only had one C+ in my prerequisites. You have to have a C or better, C- and you're going to have to retake that course. You have to have your application and goal statement in by March 31, and then your transcript stuff in by June 31st (unless they changed it, you might want to verify that with WSU, it was 6/31 for me).
HFCC isn't a very big school. They've got a small student population, and they lack income from a lot of revenue sources that WSU has (on-campus stores and such). HFCC will take credits from nearly any school because they NEED students. It would be harder to transfer from HFCC to another school versus transfering from another school to HFCC.
