Tell me about your state, especially your practice act! Tell me everything. I want to hear it all, good and bad.
My husband just sold out of his firm and has an outstanding (as in just unbelievable) opportunity at UVM. But d@mn, it is cold up there. I don't know if I can stand those kind of temperatures unless the opportunities for NPs are just out of this world. So, can I stand it?

I am not an NP in Vermont, but I can tell you it is a beautiful state! People are relaxed (at least compared to Massachusetts). I dont think there are a lot of Vermonter on this board! I have been recently looking around the job boards and it seems family NP is most in demand there.

I'm not an NP, but I do live in Vermont. Where would you be moving from?
Yes, it is cold, yes, we get snow; but we handle winter here the way people in more southern climates handle brutal summer heat or hurricanes (or any other major weather you can name).
An few inches (or even feet) of snow doesn't faze our roadcrews, who have it plowed and salted fairly quickly, especially in Burlington.
Winter is long and it does get cold, but spring, fall, and summer more than make up for it.
Here's the nursing board site: http://vtprofessionals.org/opr1/nurses/
Here's the VT NP Association: http://vtnpa.enpnetwork.com/
Hope those help some.
