Any tips for new grads looking for NJ employment?

Published

I've recently passed NCLEX and have been applying to jobs, and was wondering how other people in my boat are doing. Have you found that you were able to find employment at hospitals? A couple of my friends have gotten jobs at LTC facilities and nursing homes, but I am not sure if that route is for me.

Thanks!

Hey Temmuz! I also graduated (in may) from rutgers ABSN! I got my ATT in mid july and passed the nclex last week! How are you finding the program prepped you for your new job? (congrats by the way!) I've been working as a CCT, but only per diem for a few months and that obviously isn't adding to my nursing-specific skills

Congrats on passing the NCLEX !!! I feel as though nursing school only gives you the foundation to start your career. Hands on experience you receive during orientation is crucial in adding a little bit of confidence to feel okay about hanging in there 😊

I wish I had more opportunities to practice certain skills during clinicals (foley insertion, hanging blood, blood draws, inserting IVs...) but you do learn as these events take place. I do feel that our program gave us a good knowledge base in assessments, pharmacology, and pathophysiology.
