Any St. Vincent's or St. Lukes (Jax, FL) nurses out there?

Published

Hello All! Just wondering if there are any nurses that work at St. V's or St. Lukes out there? I have a question about their hiring process (specifically St. Lukes). First off-- St. Lukes cannot formally hire a prospective employee until he/she has acquired their RN license, correct? Please let me know!

I'm from Jax and my dad was a pt at St Luke's a LOT when I was growing up. Went back to Jax b/c my grandma was very ill a few months ago at Memorial, I was very impressed with the hospital and nurses, seemed like a big improvement from how it was when I lived there. Sorry that doesn't answer your question at all, just was excited to see someone from my hometown =) Did you go to UNF?

May depend on the state if you can work as a "Pre-RN". Long time ago we got hired in before even taking boards. A lot has probably changed!!:)

I'm not sure at St. Luke's but at St. V's, I only had a job offer after I had passed boards, but people who worked there already had a job lined up before boards. I think all the hospitals are following the same suit.

Jelly, yes I did go to UNF! Lol. Are you still in Jax now?

misswhitney, so are you working at St. V's now? And, did you have an interview before you passed the boards? If so, what did the nursing manager tell you? I was told (by a nursing manager at St. Lukes), that I would have to call him back after I pass my boards and that he would begin the process of my BG check and etc with HR at St Vincent's. He specifically told me during my interview that the managers at St Lukes do not do the actual job offers, St. V's is the one that will call the individual and let them know if there is an offer.

No, I'm in LA. Graduated NS on Friday =D have thought about moving back to Jax if stuff doesn't work out here... boyfriend wouldn't like that too much though, so I'll probably tough it out here. Good luck!!
