Hello all
I just wanted to know from any one here if they work as a theatre/scrubs nurse? and what it is like? is it an interesting area of nursing? Im heading for my last nursing placement in my training now and have not had any theatre nursing experience yet its something i would consider to go into when I am qualified...I would like to hear from theatre nurses what it is like? Is it at all a 'clicquey' type environment as thats one of the negative rumours i frequently hear... or does the team get on well??
Hope to hear from you all soon!

hi tina, i have been in the o.r at a level one trauma hospital a total of 12 years in the role as a surgical tech and an rn it is in my blood. yes, it can be an out of control fire at times but for the most every one gets along fine. the only thing that upsets the balance is a toooooooooooo smart in the pants resident that you have to save from time to time.

Working in the OR in the UK, or anywhere else, is not any different.
And as stated above, the new resident on service may be your biggest battle, unfortunately this happens quite a bit. You will find the residents to be absolutely wonderful or the other end of the spectrum.
