I am currently doing my ASN in a local community college in NYC...I want to plan ahead and look into my options on where to transfer to down the road...but I would definetely like some recommendations on schools that have a 1 day program for nurses or a schedule that is convinient for those that work in the meantime...any tips?

Hi I am in Missouri but I am finishing my ADN which is the same as your ASN and I am going to do a online program at Kansas University. I have found that a lot of people at my job love the convience of online BSN programs because it's on your time not the schools. I would look into something like that if I were you. They even have online/in class programs where you can go back and forth. Just a suggestion. Hope it helps.

I am going to do a online program at Kansas University.
Is that the same as the University of Kansas? The Jayhawks?
thanx, I didn't really think about doing my bachelors online, I think I would definetely consider it if I moved out of NY to work elsewhere...although I really like the in-class feeling, I don't have too much motivation to do work online, although can't say I've ever tried. I would like to graduate from a University before entering my masters program. I wonder if I"m able to do some classes online to speed up the process during actually going to school hmmm....
Excelsior College is right there in NY, but their programs enroll students from all over the US and beyond. I had a good experience with their ASN program, so now I am chipping away at the BSN. The flexibility is nice, if you have the discipline to do a lot of work on your own.
Yes, I typed it backwards. I will be a Jayhawk! Great program.
Online seems good...but I would like the traditional University experience. Currently looking into Adelphi, NYU, StoneyBrook, LIU, Downstate....yeah..the list goes on. I don't know much about any of these schools except some bad reviews on some site so any info on that would help alot!

Why dont you look into Adelphi University? It's costy, but I think Nursing Employers usually pay for their employees' education.Am I right?

I applied to Keuka College in western NY and was accepted. They have a satellite accelerated RN to BSN program at 5 or 6 different sites- Syracuse, Buffalo, Utica-Rome, Hamilton, etc. The school is private and a bit pricey, but has a good reputation. I ended up with an online school and I start May 1st. It was one of the only online schools that contained all the general education requirements with its program. I wanted to do all the rest of the required courses at one school. I start Flordia Hospital College of Health Sciences in May. Which ASN program are you in?
I attend the Cuny-LAGCC program...it's been intense but I'm hanging in there and I am super resourceful so I'm getting a head start in planning the next 10 years of my life..lol. Are you talking about Florida hospital in Orlando? The prvt. SDA hospital?
Yes.
