It is something to be proud of. It's hard to get through nursing school while pregnant; you are so tired and your energy gets zapped up. Then you have the little one and it gets hard to concentrate on your studies.
I had a baby towards the end of my third semester of nursing. Going to school in that third semester was difficult because again, I lost a lot of energy. After I had my daughter, I had a **LOT** of help from my husband's parents, who live close by. They kept her quite a bit while I worked and went to school, and my husband worked. I was fortunate.

Anyone who is pregnant and in school should be proud!!!! I was pregnant in my senior year, had my baby, graduated with 15 college credits and with my class!
I plan on waiting to have my second child after nursing school because I know it would be very difficult and admire those who do!!!!
No I just have to finish my pre-reqs and get into nursing school with an upcoming toddler!

I am planning on becoming pregnant so that I will have my second child in the summer of my third year. There are a lot of nay sayers out there, for sure. Most folks tell me to wait...but I'm 34 and the clock is ticking! I know that there is a chance that a difficult pregnancy is a risk, but I remember working 40+ hours while pregnant, and THAT was no fun. In my program, there is only one clinical a week, and they offer the option of online classes for everything I need to take when I will be getting into late second and third trimesters and uncomfortable. I am optimistic and excited! Plus, I will have that whole summer to be with my children and husband before I have to think about returning to school or working! It frustrates me to hear posts that say "wait" without knowing more specific info about a student's situation. I'm a 4.0 student and the hardest classes I have had have been non nursing classes (ie microbiology) and these are now out of the way. I feel confident that I can do it...and there are several gals in my program who already have and a couple more who are planning to do it at the same time I am.

I'm not in the program yet but start my RN program in August (...finally). I just recently found out I am pregnant and when I start RN school I will be 21 weeks (5 months big) pregnant. I'm worried because I too have read all the negatives about being in the program while pregs and it scares me. But at the same time I know there are positives too. Especially the joy of having a child in itself. This will be my third child and even though my husband is thrilled I'm still at the what happened to my 5 year plan that I finally started working on the past couple of years. It will be hard and I'm already having pregnancy amnesia symptoms which I hope will go away when school starts. Anyhow, you're not alone out there and I have been told by others it's hard but doable. Just take care of yourself and the little one and if at all possible be as organized as possible and get as much help as you can. Hey at least you will already have had your baby when you start school.:wink2: Unlike me who will be huge and trying to do clinicals at the same time...
