We will be relocating to the Atlanta area (slightly NE of Atlanta) for my husbands schooling. I currently work in mother/baby couplet care, and would like to continue to work in this area in Atlanta (I have 6+ years of experience). Can anyone recommend hospitals to work at?? I have been looking them up online, and there are BUNCHES!! I am wondering which have the reputation of being good to patients AND to thier employees?? THANKS!!

I recommend either Northside or Piedmont. If you're moving NE of the city, I worked at Gwinnett during nursing school and enjoyed my time there, but I was also PRN and can't speak of the benefits or RN pay. I have friends on mother/baby units at all of the 3 listed though and they seem to really enjoy their jobs. Hope that helps!

Well, Gwinnett and Northside are already on my radar....so YAY!! I will also look up Piedmont. THANKS so much for that. A couple more questions if you dont mind..........

My husband will be going to school in Suwanee....and we'd like to live somewhere in between-ish. We have 3 kids ages 14, 12 and 8. Schools and safe neighborhoods are important to us. We are going to rent at first at least. So far, we have been looking at maybe Norcross?? Lawrenceville?? Lilburn?? Tucker??

I have heard that traffic can be worse than awful in Atlanta, so I dont want to live too far from either place. We are Arizonans (born and raised) so it is hard to know where to live and how far is too far away!

THANKS so mcuh!!

My family just moved to Atlanta and we are trying to close on a house in Morningview subdivision in Suwanee. It is a great neighborhood. We also liked a neighborhood not far from there in Lawrenceville called Richland. We are moving to Suwanee for the schools. We only have a 19 month old but we want the best for her. My husband commutes to the airport and the commute has not been so bad. I'm looking to get into postpartum nursing myself but only have experience on Med/Surg/Tele. I'm trying to decide between hospitals. You might look into Emory at John's Creek as well. Good Luck!

I'll definately look into those neighborhoods. I have heard great things about the schools in those areas as well. I think that we are going to rent....at least at first, but there appears to be rental homes in nice areas too. I will look into the Emory Hospital. Thanks for the relpy!

I checked out Piedmont yesterday and there are alot of opening for L&D and mother/baby! I'm not sure how far it is from the area your speaking of though.
