Hey Everyone !!!
I am a Pediatric Emergency Psychiatry Nurse, and I was curious as to how many of us there are out there?? The behavioral health lounge in my ER is a fairly new area, and this is a new role created for the ER.
I was wondering how you guys liked your jobs?
Do you have a defined role, if so what is it?
Let's Talk!

I've done Psych, Peds Psych, and Psych ER. But not Peds Psych ER.
I know our local children's hospital has some psych but I don't think they have a dedicated ER role for it either.

I am going to be working the psych pod in the ED one night per week but I think it's peds andadults. I've never seen a ddedicated peds psych pod. I've worked inpt c&a psych though and I love it. Thankfully my new job takes adolescents also.

The only pediatric psych emergencies I handle are my daughters :) But sounds like an interesting position. I am TRYING very very very very hard to get a psych nurse in our ER to handle the patients that are coming in, so potentially if they ever approve it the person could have to handle pediatric emergencies prior to disposition to a ped facility.
