Was just wondering if anyone else is hoping to get into the RN program at PBSC starting fall 2011. Would love a buddy to keep in touch with through the process of everything! :)

To be completely honest it is a really hard class for everyone it was just as hard for me! It takes a lot of studying! It kind of consumes your life :). But to answer your questions, the best way to be able to learn and do well on the test is to completely focus on understanding the material first, to the point where you can describe a parasympathetic such as what it will do and will not. This way when you learn the drugs all you need is the name and class. Because then by knowing classes you will no what to look for. If you try memorize every detail of the drug it won't help you. Understand how the drug will work and what it is used for are key things! Also focus on her power power points and record her lectures. On the test they are all critical thinking so you must look at the question and break it down to see what exactly is being asked and what is the best answer. When it come to the multiple chapters it is best to read the chapters alteast twice review PowerPoints and then take notes of your own grouping drugs for certain disease and what they will do always helps!

Good luck gigi19901!!! I believe you will do great if you put your hard work into it!

Thanks sooo much Keichhof!! I really do appreciate it. And I have been re-reading the chapters at least twice because sometimes I don't fully grasp what I am reading. But will definitely try to use your advice.

On the first exam..I missed 18/50. After the test, we could review the questions we got wrong and see the corrrect answer. On majority of the ones I got wrong, I doubted myself. Majority of the time when there are 4 answer choices, I automatically can eliminate 2 of the answer choices. Then with the two remaining question, I try to reason why one is better than the other.

For example..there was a question about a women telling the nurse she didn't want a synthetic medicine. The question asked how would the nurse explain to the patient about synthetic medicines. I eliminated 2 answer choices..then the two that were left looks like this:

A. Majority of synthetic medicines are produced in the laboratories.

B. Majority of synthetic medicines comes naturally from plants.

Knowing fully well that A could be the right answer, I Chose B because this just seemed like an easy question and thought it was a trick question. Crazy? Yes, but I will try not to do that again and go with my instincts.

Thanks again!! Good luck with your nursing goals also.

You are more than welcome and thank you!! And that would be another good rule of thumb don't second guess your self and be confident! More than half of the time your first answer is correct. Good luck with class and the program, maybe we will get in together!! Also when it comes to reading focus on the objectives also at the beginning such as write them down on one sheet each and write down the explanations beneath them.

Hi guys! I'm new to this website and I also applied for Fall 2011 at PBSC. I'm so anxious for the decisions to be made! They said letters will go out starting the 3rd week of June, so hopefully we hear very soon! Good luck to every one :)

Anyone get any new info?

Denial letters went out this past week! Not sure what the cut was, but I am really nervous!! Good luck to everyone and welcome kerri ann!

Thanks kme91! I haven't heard anything yet...keeping my fingers crossed!

Has anyone heard any news, or possibly know what the cutoff was?

I heard from a friend that the cutoff was 28.9!

I heard the Same from a friend, but I'm still nervous because it has not changed from complete!
