Any Nursing Students in Ga???

Published

Hey There,

I am a returning student going back for nursing, and just wanted to get some feedback from someone who is currently in nursing school here in Ga! ADN or BSN. I took my NET and scored an 86% and have a 2.92 GPA from undergrad(i dunno if thats good or bad) Any helpful info about the school you attend, scholarships, or the admission process would be greatly appreciated!!!:D:D

Hello misskt...

I'm a senior nursing student in Ga. Brenau university to be exact and one semester to go. Anyway i can help you let me know and i'll try my best

Mex:smokin:

I'm prenursing at Augusta State. It's a good school. It and USC-Aiken (which gives in-state to people from Augusta/GA?) are the two best schools around here. MCG gets a lot of pr and the kids who go there love it, but the nurses in the field like their grads the least, AND their grads score lowest of the three schools on NCLEX. 2.92 might get you in at one of those programs, but it would be highly dependent on your Nursing GPA (computed using ONLY prereq grades). Give ASU a call...they'll help you over the phone (ask for an advisor..don't talk to the secretaries)! Hope this helps!

Just a tidbit: Augusta State has told many of the nursing students I have worked with (as well as myself) that too many attempts at Algebra negates you from ever entering their program. As a result I am now going to USC Aiken (starting actual nursing program Monday) and having done pre-req's there I can say it's an awesome school. I had attempted algebra more than 2 times and while I ended up making a B, more than twice was too many for ASU.

Good luck today Schreibere...I'm SO jealous of you! Yeah, ASU is kinda stiff about the prereqs, but in some ways I can understand. I know you'll love USC Aiken....it produces the most sought after graduates, both for knowledge and personality...at least so I've been told! Good luck and share the good/bad/ugly about USC Aiken after you've been there a while!
