Any nurses that work on a Clinical Stabilization Unit?

Hello!

I applied for a Acute Detox Unit a few days ago. My aunt that works at the facility spoke to the DON as she referred me and the DON said she needs nurses for the new CSS unit opening. I’m excited but do not see much information about the nurses role on this unit. Anyone have any experience on a CSS unit as an RN?

Thank you

I think it sounds like an amazing opportunity but I really like working with people seeking recovery. It will definitely be a challenge in terms of getting treated pretty crappy by a lot of the patients since detoxing is probably like hell. It will also require some quick thinking and clinical skills because ppl detoxing can go down pretty fast with DTs etc.

I think this question might be more appropriate for the addictions nursing forum rather than the rehabilitation nursing forum, as this one caters more toward non-addiction related rehab (like post stroke care etc).
