Any MD Anderson Nurses here?

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hi, I will be relocating from Raleigh to Northwest Houston area and was wondering if any MD Anderson nurses could give me some feedback. From all the research I have done it sounds like the nurses here are very happy and generally don't leave. I'll be coming from Duke and would love to join another large organization. Was just hoping to get overall feedback of the organization from a nurses perspective and wondering about the pay here. Nurses in TX make more than nurses in NC and I'm wondering how competitive the pay is at MD Anderson vs other large hospital systems in the area. Thanks in advance.

Good luck to you, Chasslane. I worked at MDACC in the early to mid-2000s before I was a nurse, and I liked the organization. I wish I could be more help to you as far as the current pay and such. Hope you get some helpful replies.

Hi Chasslane,

Did you wind up at MD Anderson? I currently work there and also came from a large hospital organization from the east coast. I really like it and feel that most nurses are happy there. I think the pay is competitive with the other large hospitals in the medical center. good luck!

Hi there! I am all settled in Spring now and I am looking for a job. So no, I have not had any luck yet. MD Anderson is still my number one choice but the last position I applied for has been filled and I haven't heard anything back yet about the PACU job I applied for in The Woodlands. Sounds like you work in TMC? If I hear anything I'll let you know. But keeping my fingers crossed that they call me back for now. Happy New Year!
