Welcome, Cindy!!
I'm an LBCC grad myself.......went there from '93 to '97. The nursing program used to be one of the state's finest; they've had some problems in recent years (less-than-stellar NCLEX pass rates, lots of faculty turnover etc.), but they're still putting some darned good nurses out there.
It used to be quite difficult to get in, but that was back in the days when they only accepted 30 students per year........I hear it's still pretty competitive though.
Best of luck to you!

I went to LBCC from 2001-2004, taking my prereqs for nursing school. I decided I wanted to get my BSN so I transfered up to PCC last year and I just found out in April that I will be starting OHSU's BSN program this summer :). I really enjoyed my all of my classes at LBCC and the small campus. I also found the onsite daycare to be invaluable! Good luck getting in!!!

Hi Cindy,
Do you know when LBCC's letters are expected to be sent?
I'm also applying to Lane and Umpqua. I should be getting my Lane letter tomorrow (fingers crossed...I live in Eugene).

Hi Jill,
I received a letter from LBCC last week telling me how many points they have for me. In this letter, they said soon after May 24, they would begin sending letters. I don't know about Lane, but I feel that LBCC and other schools that only go by points are doing a disservice to prospective students. To have a more solid student body, I think they should look at GPA, life experience (including any medical experience or volunteer work), and maybe an essay or interview on the reasons why the person is applying.
This point thing has been annoying....
Best of luck to you wherever you end up!
