Hello, I currently a hospice nurse and my husband and I have been talking about me looking into travel nursing. I have med surg experience, but really LOVE hospice. Are there many hospice travel opportunities? Thanks.

There certainly are hospice travel assignments, enough for you to travel full time. As a smaller specialty of course, there won't be as many as say medsurg or ED. Start calling agencies to get a better idea. Ignore job boards (you mentioned them in your other post) as they are misleading at best, and fraudulent at worst.
Thank you so much!

I am a hospice traveller, currently in Burlington, VT. Core Medical Group has a lot of hospice positions, but you need to be familiar with the hospice "drill;" i.e. how a visit works, what you do (manage symptoms) and don't do (send to the ER), hospice P&P, the difference between a hospice and palliative visit. When you take a job, you get a couple, maybe three, days of orientation. Then you are expected to hit the ground running. My suggestion is to work for a hospice locally, get some mileage, then go travel. That way, you will be fully confident in the position.
