This may sound silly, I'm a new grad working in med-surg at the hospital and I've always wondered what RNs do in the drs office. I was told we were not useful in the office setting which is why I'm looking into getting my NP

It would depend on the MD office..this particular office is a reconstructive and plastic surgeon's..besides educating patients and assisting with procedures in the rooms (suture removal, bandages, being present when MD exams females or children), management of referrals, etc. this office also has an OR so the RN here will go into the OR to assist as well. Definitely a jack-of-all-trades for this office.
