Hi everyone!
I just received my letter this weekend and I am excited and nervous all at the same time. The program starts June 1. Are there any other Eliners (future, past or present) out there? I would love to "meet" some, as I am apprehensive about the lack of peer interaction. I live in Austin and I decided on TAMU CC Eline because of the flexibility it offers. I have three kids and I am looking for a job. So I am going from being a SAHM to being in nursing school and having a job. I know its a little crazy but I will push thru and hopefully find time to be thankful for the opportunity too!
Thanks for taking the time to read. :wink2:

hey. i have a question for you. do you have to take biol 1406. i havent taken that, but ive taken everything else. i would only imagine that they have that as a prereq because probably at TAMU they have that as a prereq for their AP classes. how long does it take to know if you are accepted. how does the process work. is it too late for the June class? where are you located? are you in the corpus area? im in the dallas area and ive heard that they only have one area that does clinicals and its pediatrics.
You have to have a previous bachelors for the Eline, and its fine for the bio 1406 to come from the older degree plan. It is a requirement for A & P, are you saying you have already taken A&P? If so, they may make an exception, although the other thing that they are strict about is Tx Hist, so if your other degree is from out of state thats another pre req they will ask you to take before applying. They have 3 enrollement periods, and I had to apply on Feb 1 for a June 1 start. I assume the other enrollements times are Fall & Spring. I'm Austin, and I dont know about Dallas, but I think there is someone on this board that has done Eline from Dallas. Look through the other posts, I believe her forum name is Tawilla and her posts are very helpful. In Austin, the clinicals are set up at St Davids Georgetown and Dell Childrens. As I get started in the program, I will come back to give an update. I am hesitant about the clinicals, but since I have 3 young kids, I needed the flexibility I didnt think I could get from UT. I hope that helps, feel free to ask more, I will tell you all I can :)
i didnt know you had to have a previous degree..hmm well scratchhh that. lol. i didnt read where you have to have a previous one. where was that located at on the website? but yeah i was saying ive had all the sciences like ap micro, path, but i didnt have biol 1406 because it wasnt a requirement..but yeah im from texas and have been here forever, so i have all the tx history classes..well there goes that idea about this bsn program. but thanks for you info.
You know its been so long since I first starting looking into ELINE, maybe I am wrong. I would look at their list of pre reqs and see if you have them all and call Rita Rushing, you can get her number on the website. I aplogize if I was wrong, I dont know why I thought that was part of it.
I just read it again, and I think you just need to have your Tx core work and all the nursing pre reqs,it sounds like you may have all that! I would call tomorrow, you may be able to apply for Fall. :)
