Any evening courses available for RN or LPN?

U.S.A. Indiana

Hi every one, I am new to this site and I am having a hard time fiding a school that offers an associates degree in nursing that doesn't require a day time only schedule. I have two girls and only have acess to childcare and a car in the evenings. I am also looking into going the LPN route. Any advice, please help.

Thanks:banghead:

I know in the central Indiana area there is only one program that has night classes and that's the LPN program at the Logansport Ivy Tech. They also have a part time LPN program. But they change from evening to days every other year, if I remember correctly, so if it's nights this year, it will be a day time program next year. It's the only one I've found in this state. Other states have great alternatives to a days only program, not here. :( I do not know of any evening RN programs , at least not in this area. Good luck! I know how frustrating this is. :banghead:I"m right at that wall with you.haha

I doubt you will find any RN program that has class at night or in the evening.

You will have to do your clinicals during the day anyway, correct ? If you want it bad enough, you will make it happen.

I am currently in the part-time evening RN Program in Logansport. They switch between LPN and RN every other year. I don't know of any others.

Have you looked into the bus system or the Ivy Tech shuttle system? I believe the bus goes by both campuses (and you could take NMC to Lawrence). You said that you only have access to evening childcare. I don't mean to sound rude- but they do offer childcare during the day and it may mean that you need to switch your options around. Unfortunately nursing is just not flexible at all.

You may want to check into Anderson or Muncie. I know at one time they had a part-time RN program and some of it was in the evenings.

Awesome RN evening with Saturday (all day) clinicals in san antonio Texas. Baptist School Of Health professions. I'm posting this for others who may run into this thread and find it helpful.

I am in the part-time Rn progam at Logan as well. I have heard that there will be another RN program after ours starting Fall 2010. My husband is starting pre-reqs but won't be able to make it in because he won't have ANP 2 finished. Just like our class only 20 spots will be available.

Initially we were told that the next PT class would be LPN, but when he went to meet with his advisor that was the info he recieved.

Good Luck to you!
