Hi, I am new to the site. I was hoping that there might be some diabetes nurse practitioners who would like to share what their day to day looks like and in what environments you work? I have been able to find a good bit of info on CDE's who are RN's but not CDE's who are NP's. Any feedback and info would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

hello, sfnightingale2b and welcome to allnurses.com and the np forum
i'm not a cde, but an np whose practice is largley made up of diabetics. rural, lower socio-economic areas.
hope you enjoy the site here.
Siri,
Thank you for your response. Everyone has been very supportive on this forum.
You mentioned your "practice", do you work independently or with a group of other health care professionals? You also mentioned that while you do not see diabetics exclusively, that you do see a lot of people who have diabetes. I do not expect you to write volumes, but could you tell me what a day in your life might look like? I am applying to the University of California in San Francisco and I will need to choose my track before I enter the program and I am considering Adult Nurse Practitioner. I want to have a clear idea of what I am getting into so I make the right choice.
Siri (Iris?), thank you again for your response!
