I am interested in Chamberlain's msn-fnp program and was wondering if any practicing NPs graduated from there, and if finding a job was difficult. I love the idea of their program but am worried about it not being a "prestigious" enough school. I'm looking for answers from actual grads from this program! Thank you :)

It's a brand new program, the first class has not graduated as of yet.
I didn't know that, thanks for the info. What about the other msn programs they offer? Will a graduate degree from Chamberlain be able to compete with one from a reputable university?

There is no way to answer this is they haven't had a graduating class. All I can say is that there are SOME people who have a bias against for profit schools, and will not hire people from there. There have been people posting on this very forum that their HR department trashes resumes from Kaplan, Walden, Chamberlain, etc. As far as competing with reputable schools, it depends on your area. In a desperate area, yes you should be able to find employment, and once you are experience your NP school will no longer matter. For your first job, though, you will have a tough time if you're competing with people from well known reputable, not for profit programs. Very few people will choose a Chamberlain graduate over someone from Columbia, Yale, Georgetown, UCSF, or any of the other well known schools.
I think it's fair that you know that. For profit schools tend to be much easier to get into (some have 99% acceptance rates), so you do sacrifice some marketability for choosing the "easier" path. If that's okay with you, then move forward. Good luck either way!

I can tell you in West Texas, NPs, RNs are not being hired at all from for profit schools. Texas Tech is the big dog in town, and there is a big bias against programs that are not the Older stable programs.

If that is the case, is the FNP Program accredited by the appropriate body? Certainly there is no track record to go by pertaining to Board passes.

CCN has proper accreditations. I live in houston and work at the #1 cancer hospital in the nation....and guess what.....they LOVE chamberlain nurses! So much that they pay for tuition to enroll there. I'm enrolled in the FNP program, started July 7/7

That's not exactly how it works. Your hospital likely has a tuition payment policy, which you could use for any school. Chamberlain probably shows up as "discounted" for employees of your hospital, but that's simply a Chamberlain marketing trick. They do that for many hospital systems as a way of advertisement.
