Any continental travel nurses?

Hello everyone!

I am soon to be a nursing student. I am going back after receiving a bachelors in another field. I have all the pre reqs done and I'm looking to finish my BSN in about 2 years as accelerated is not for me.

I have dreams of being a continental travel nurse. Ideally I would love to work in the UK - specifically the London area. I know it takes a bit of time to get accepted and get the paper work and the work visa, but I was just wondering how it is for anyone who does this?

How hard was it to get the assigned location of your dreams and how long are they usually?

Any cool stories or experiences are totally welcomed!

How realistic is it as an American travel nurse to work in the UK?

I've worked there on a 6 month contract for the NHS (more like 8 months with holidays though) in Blackpool. London is very expensive, but also the highest paid. I'm not sure they have travel contracts like we do here, but per diem is pretty big in London. I don't know of any agencies here or there that provide support to Americans, at least US nurses who are not on the UK register. So your first step is getting licensed, and then you can get sponsored by an employer to work there. No test, or not when I went. Biggest thing seems to get references that attest to your good moral character.
