i am a Kansas CNA i would love to hee from other CNA's out there, lets share experiences i have been this field for about 20 years, i have been certified since 1985, i love what i do i love helping the elerdly, they are living history books just waiting to tell us everything that we could possibly know.
hope to hear from female or male CNA's my hubby loves for me to get to know other CNA's like myself so we can share out love of nursing.
I got my license as a CNA in 1985. I worked as a CNA when I got out of high school to find out if nursing is really what I wanted to do. I got my LPN in 1989. I am now in my last semester for my RN, ADN program. I think CNA's make better nurses. Specially after being in a LTC. You learn how to talk to other, as you would like to be spoken to. If that makes sense? I see so many nurses treating CNA's like crap.
also what is the pay range for a cna?
Depends where you work. Agency pays around $14 or 15. LTC pays $7-11 from what I have heard, and hospitals vary incredibly. I'm a CNA in an RN program and get $13 in a critical care unit, but i have heard as high as $16. I also worked at a rehab hospital and only got $8.50...extremely boring and I could only take it for 2 months.

Wow! It's hard enough for us with just one of us going to school! My graduation was tonight. I'll soon be a nurse in a LTC. I know at times I will wish I was still a CNA. I hope they will have me work with another nurse and not put me in charge for a long time.
