I have applied to start the pre-nursing program, and am awaiting my (hopefully) acceptance letter. I am a 28 yr old wife and mother, who also works full time. I need a change of career, and have always wanted to become a nurse so I thought, lets go for it! I haven't been a student in 8 yrs, (I took some unrelated college courses right out of high school) and am very anxious and nervous but also excited.
I am SOOO glad I found this site, and am looking forward to chatting and getting to know everyone!!

ME! I'm currently upgrading my high school marks, and taking some of the classes from the BScN program beforehand. I'm also trying to do it with young kids:grn:
Its so nice to know I'm not alone! I love this forum! I am also doing it with small children, I have an 8 yr old son. I also have a step daughter 10, and step son 7 that live with us 50% of the time. I am also working full time. I hope I can balance it all come the fall. So are you taking a pre-health program in college or just upgrading certain courses? I am taking the pre-health science program at my community college this yr, and starting my BScN fall 2009 (hopefully!)
I am sooo excited, and nervous!

I'm Canadian. Currently upgrading Biology and Math (130, and 120 in Sept) to get into an LPN program locally. I *could* take the BscN here, but I'm already 32, and by the time I finished my upgrading to get into the program it would be another year and a half. THEN, 4 years of full-time school. I'm opting for LPN for that reason. I have 3 kids - 13, 7, and 5. I've done one full school-year of upgrading already, and I've surprised myself with an A+ in both subjects. It's crazy what you can accomplish with the right attitude and some maturity under your belt.
In January I'll be taking Sociology and Psychology, which are both components of the LPN program. They recommend getting them out of the way before you begin full-time. I'll enter the LPN program in Sept 09.
Nice to meet you both! If I could be 28 again, I'd do what you're doing!
