Well, it's that time of year again, and I've finally been accepted into the RN program at Calhoun Community College! Got my acceptance letter yesterday. I am VERY stoked, to say the least. I have waited a LONG time for this, especially considering the fact that I was initially given a lot of incorrect information by several advisers, which resulted in my admission being delayed by over a year. Consequently I wasn't able to start along with my fellow classmates from all of my BIO classes. However, I'm just glad that this is all finally in motion now.
Anyway - any other Calhoun students out there (first year or otherwise)? Any Huntsville Hospital people out there?

I also just got accepted in Calhoun's RN program, I will be doing my registration on Monday because of my last name. Congratulations to us!
Hey Jamie, that's awesome. Yeah, I had my CPR class tonight, and then I register next Tuesday.
btw, do you know if tuition is due at time of registration? thanks for the response; good luck!
Im not sure if its due then, but im assuming so since it has to be payed before classes start, but maybe you could also pay the day of orientation, im going to bring it just in case, I think first semester is 3 nursing courses? And i was told the cost is the same as a normal class, so thats like $700..something i beileve, not to mention the $272 I'v spent on supplies and my uniform, and another $350 on books, and i still have 3 more to buy....my my my
Wow, Jamie, sounds you're really on the ball. I haven't even brought any of my books or supplies yet; I'll probably do that on orientation day, during that book fair thing. And yeah, 1st semester tuition is going to be $760 if I remember correctly; even more if you still have to take Math and A&P I. Fortunately though I've already gotten those out of the way...
I'v also finished all my pre-requisite courses, only nursing courses from here on out...I dont see how people take all those courses along with nursing, I had a hard enough time in A&P, and micro without having nursing tacked on.
I hear ya on that!
Did you take your BIO classes at Calhoun? If so, who did you have? I had Mr. Russell for most of them, and he was awesome. Then I had Dr. Collier for micro...I liked him, but he could certainly present a challenge sometimes.

Took BIO 201 at the huntsville campus with Dr.Leonard (TOUGH!!) and then BIO 202 at huntsville with Dr.Hereford which wasnt so bad, and I also had Dr.Collier for micro.

I am really nervous about Micro...I am going to try to pick that up in the spring if they offer it. I think someone recommended refreshing on the Biology courses...it may have been one of you guys actually. If I can knock Micro out then I will only have to take nursing classes...all the better. IF I get accepted into the program that is!

I would definately take micro first, it was hard enough for me with 3 other classes that wern't nursing classes....I had Dr.Collier, and it about killed me, it was my first C in college :-( And i would register the second that you possibly can in the spring, and try and get Mr.Threlkeld, I'v heard he's wonderful, and most people come out with A's if not B's
Jamie,
Thanks for the tip! I will definitely do that!
