I'm considering an hybrid bridge program in a different state and fly in for the clinical part. Anyone else go that route? CA is so competitive and time consuming. Ugh.
Never mind, wrong place.

Cali LVN here. I'm starting my ADN with ICHS next week (June 2020) and im so excited but nervous. The program will be 15-18months depending on how many classes they'll let me cram into one semester. The total cost of the program is around $46k, that's including all pre-reqs, I.e. A&P, micro, math, eng, etc.
If you've done all those classes already, you can transfer them and knock off ~$1100 per class from the final tuition amount. You travel to FL for the clinical hours, once a quarter for 4 quarters. They give you the clinical schedule ahead of time and you get to choose which days work best for you. They've also teamed up with hotels around the area to offer a discount to students from out of town/state.
if you don't have your pre-reqs, you can do them through StraighterLine.com, its a self-paced program offering like a gazillion classes for transfer and it's super cheap. My plan is to finish my ADN with ICHS in FL then go for my RN-BSN with WGU. All of the StraighterLine classes are accepted there and the school is also nationally accredited and inexpensive.
My coworker told me about the program, she's getting ready to graduate and her friend also finished her RN there and is an RN at Kaiser. It's nationally accredited so once you take your FL NCLEX you can endorse your license in CA.
Is there an entrance exam? HESI or TEAS? Did you finish all of your pre reqs before applying?

@Elleveein no entrance exam unless you're already an LVN. If that's the case, then you take a GAP Analysis Exam (similar to ATI or NCLEX) to see if you can test out of Fundamentals, Pharm, MedSurg and Mental Health Nursing. You need an 85% in each subject in order to pass. As for pre-requisites, no I did not have them done and they do not require you to have any done either. It's a 22-month program, including all general ed requirements and pre-reqs like your english and a/p, micro.

I dont know if it's Live Instruction, I guess I'll find out on Monday when the program starts LOL
