Don't quit now. If you have to wait I know it may suck, but just think how you will be feeling next year around this time as you wait for classes to start in August. But you never know you may still get in in January. Good Luck

Don't give up! You've climbed too far to just come down now! We understand and empathize with you, honest. I'm sure most, if not all of us have found ourselves in similar situations. I've been doing the pre-req and waiting game and going to class full time since 9/03..I won't start nursing school until 8/06 (hopefully)..I gave up on my CC and now I'm applying to BSN programs..Just think, you know you are already IN! That's great news in itself!

Me, Me, Me!!!!!

I'm starting at BCC in August.

Trust me, I understand your frustration. What's even more frustrating is that if your app was a month sooner you most likely would have been this August, or at the very least, January.

I know how disappointing it is. Every semester that I didn't get in I was devastated. After all, I was told it would be a 2 semester wait and it was a year longer. I even quit my job over a year ago so I could take Micro over the summer in preparation for an 8/04 start.

I'm so sorry your wait has been so long and getting longer.

Hi there. Don't give up, you're almost there. I am also ticked when I found out BCC is not accepting applications until Jan 07 for Fall 07 class. I am a pre-nursing student there and will be done with my pre-reqs in Summer 06.

Oh well, it seems a long wait but if you really want to be a nurse you gonna do what it takes to get that degree. Don't let the situation put you down but take it positively, maybe there's a good reason why you did not get in yet. It will give you time to review the entrance exam or enjoy your family and friends while you wait. Just to think of it, it's not that long.

Hang in there, it will be worth in the end. Keep us posted.

The website says that the Pre Rn exam will begin with the January 2006 class. i guess that means everyone on the list for January 2006 has to take the Pre Rn exam. When i went to the pre nursing orientation meeting last winter 2005 the instructors said the dates were not announced. Interestingly when some students and I tried to go to the pre nursing orentation in the summer, it said it was canceled and they told us they would not have anymore of those meetings. Some students thought we did not have to take the Pre RN test. I got the Pre Rn book by Mary McDonald and starting to study for it. I'm wondering if its a good idea to review anatomy also? Does anyone have any advice on studying for the Pre Rn exam and reviewing anatomy?

If you are in the group being considered for January, you've been waiting probably almost as long as I have. It's been incredibly frustrating. I would have been helped if these changes were made a long time ago, but I feel really bad for those whose chances were really hurt by it.

I'm assuming the reason they aren't doing the orientation sessions is because they won't be accepting applications again until January 2007 for August '07. Unfortunately, the staff there is incredibly unhelpful, so it's difficult to get any information.

Good luck with getting in in January. I took the Health Science Core last spring with several people hoping for January as well.
