Any alumni from CCP's nursing program?

Published

Hello! I'm considering applying to CCP's nursing program and I would like any and all alumni to give feedback on your job findings after the program! Noting job locations would be helpful too. Also, if you care to share, what was your entry level salary? Thanks!

Hi, I attended a semester and a half of CCP's nursing program. I can't answer your questions about post grad prospects with an ADN, but I can tell you that it is a great program. I have the pricey private university BSN program that I transferred to to compare it to.

If I could do it over again, I would have stayed at CCP and gotten the ADN for 14K or however much it was, then gotten my BSN online for 8 grand while I was working at my first job. I am over 40K in debt as a result of my decision to transfer to this BSN program and guess what. I don't care what the salary is of any job, I just want a job! Still looking 7 months post graduation. If you are at liberty to leave the area to work after you graduate, I would get the much less expensive ADN and then the BSN online. For me it was not worth it. They hire ADNs in other places.

As far as the actual programs go, the quality was no better at the expensive university. CCP's program is good and they prepare you good with a lot of hands on. They have a very small nursing lab but they use it to the fullest. Both programs were a little chaotic but there is a ton of material and a lot of people coordinating together to teach it, so it seemed that things were constantly in flux in both programs. The lab in CCP was better at delivering the training in hands on nursing skills.

I hope this is not a violation of any forum rules.

I have nothing bad to say about CCP.

Thanks Zephyr9 -- very valuable information! My plan is exactly that! I do have a bachelor's degree in another field and I think it might be best, financially and efficiently, to get the ADN and then transfer what I can from my BA and ADN to an online BSN program. I was thinking about 1-year ABSN programs for a while, but I think I rather take the time to learn nursing and not spend the $45k+ being rushed. Cheers!

I agree. Enjoy the ride and learn.
