Any Advice for a New Agency RN?

Specialties Agency

I am an RN and I am starting agency work this month, Is there any experienced agency RNs or staff that could give me some advice before I start that could keep me out of trouble in the long run? (I am not expecting to be in any trouble but I just would like some pointers to remember when working, Thanks :) )

Hi jenhduncan - I am in the process of finishing paperwork to start agency work as well! It will be my first time dealing with an agency and I'm hoping to get some per diem work. What area are you from and what area will you be doing per diem or a contract assignment? I'm in Portland and am hoping to do step-down units or surgical (still being worked out). I hope someone replies to your post - I'd love to hear tips also :) I'm a little bit nervous about the whole thing...only because it's different I guess.

Hi :) It is my first time too with agency and I guess I am nervous just because I don't know what I am getting into and thats why I made this post in case anyone that is more experienced at agency could give some people who are new some tips to keep us in line haha :) I am trying to get per diem work also so that I can stay home with my new baby more and be more flexible. I am from Louisiana in the Lafayette/ Lake Charles area. I hope to work in different areas and getting a taste of different areas.
