Hi everyone, first of all congratulations to all those who have passed the boards and for those of us waiting, goodluck to all. My problem is I am sick and tired of my kaplan scores. I feel stupid. I have done the online review of content video, i am reading the book, but I am just not getting it, why I am not doing good on the qbank and trainer. I am schedule for Nclex-RN on 7/25. My qbank scores range for low 50s to mid 50s, and few low 60s, but mostly now in the low 50s. I have done trainer 1-57%, 2-53%, and 3-51%. I have 12 more days to go and I think there is not enough time left for me to catch up on the higher scores. I am thinking of rescheduling, which I don't want to do. Pls everyone, pour in your advice, because I feel miserable and stupid because I am not getting better. I live and breath questions and studying, I don't know what to do now. pls help. When will I be in the 60s and 70s, what should I do.

make sure you finish test 5,6,7 i think that's what help me passed the nclex. found out yesterday i pass, scored 65%,65%,67% on kaplan trainer test 5,6,7...i don't think it matters what you get on those exam as long as you get used to how their asking those question. my nclex exam was just like kaplan question the way they ask their priority questions. don't reschedule you can't really prepare for that exam, whatever you learn now before the exam should be okey.

I agree with Jeffrey930 - I walked out of the test thinking I could have failed but that there was no way more studying would have helped. Focus on getting Qtrainers 5,6,7 done - they are very much like the test itself. Do not feel bad about not scoring in the 70's. Many people I know never cracked 65 on Kaplan and passed NCLEX. 70's is very high for Kaplan.
I know everybody says it but it is super important to read all the rationales for the questions - you absorb a lot of content that way (way more then watching those horrible videos in my opinion). And just get used to priority and the way those questions are worded.
I wouldnt reschedule - you are just going to psych yourself out more if you put it off.
Good luck!

I do not suggest doing any more q trainers. I suggest doing the qbank only. Do no more than 25 questions at at time. It worked for me. I used the tutor mode so I could see my answers right away. Once I was finished with that test I would take a 10 minute break then took another test. I took about 4 to 5 tests daily.
Once you identify your weak area, concentrate only on that weak area. Look at your comprehensive breakdown and find where you are weakest and focus on that. The qtrainers take too long just to see your answers that you are not learning anything. When answering qbank in tutor mode you immediately see your answers and that helps you to study.
You will be surprised at the difference. For example: qtrainer 4 and 5 are 150 questions which is 2 1/2 hours each plus at least 1 hour reviewing your answers. That is almost 4 hours that you have waisted. It only takes about 30 to 35 minutes to answer a 25 question qbank test in tutor mode. Plus you will retain the material. Plus you have also identified your weak areas for those questions. In 4 hours you would have taken between 6 and 8 tests and gained more knowledge that way.
Try it and see what happens. You have 12 days left. Give yourself 3 days this way and see what a difference it makes in your scores. If you do not like it you still have time to study a different way.
There is no rule that says you must finish those trainers or you will fail the NCLEX. Answering fewer questions help you to absorb the material you just covered. I also suggest answering questions only on one subject at time. For example: 25 safe and effective care questions, or 25 management of care questions. After answering 50 questions and you are above 64% I would leave that subject alone and move on to another subject.
I can honestly say I was an average student, and can attest that the qbank was better for me than the trainers. You will be amazed at how much material you can cover in 12 days using only qbank with a small amount of questions.
Good luck to you.

Hey there! Hopefully my story might make you feel better! I know when I was going through the hell of studying for NCLEX, taking the test, and waiting on my results, this board really helped! My best advice to you is... DONT pay attention to the Kaplan scores. The highest I ever got on the question trainer online was 58% (got a 62% on the readiness test in class). I never even made it close to 65% and I passed NCLEX in only 75 questions! The first few question trainers.. I got like 41%and 49%.. I did really horrible. If you are gonna decide to skip the questions, go ahead, but DEFINITELY do question trainer 6 & 7 and read the rationales for what you miss. Those questions focus on less content and more application. I didn't have QBANK, but my friends that had it said its awesome and it really prepares you for NCLEX. Don't pay attention so much as to your scores, but look at your rationales. 12 more days should be plenty for you to study. I think its best for you to go ahead and get this test over with instead of postponing it. The book and questions were the only thing I used.. oh and the Saunders CD. If you are gonna study content, go ahead and study pharm. I had tons of Pharm on my NCLEX. Those charts in the Kaplan book really helped! Whatever you do, don't give up on Kaplan.. its a lifesaver! I wish you the BEST of luck!!!!!!!!
Thanks all for your advice, I feel much better now. I am going to follow these advice and see what happen in the next few days. I appreciate it a lot. I will get back to you all so you will know how the plan works. Once more, thank you very much for the advice
