The clinical role of an RN is different than that of an LPN, so even if you were in a place to do LPN-RN, it would require additional clinical practicum classes. I know it' crumby, but you may just have to wait until your family obligations are a bit more manageable before you can continue with your nursing education.

I am in a hybrid ADN RN program and my grades were good until I got to MedSurg2. I failed by a fraction of points, (I was so close) but I am not sure what to do next. I have young children and live in a remote area.. every school I check on seems to require distant clinicals and four or five days total for the week. I think I could handle two or three days of a commute, but that is about it with the amount of time I need to study and childcare.
I have thought about trying to test out and get my LPN... when I called my college they said I must attend the program first. I thought if I had my LPN, I would have some choices of online or hybrid online programs. Has anyone gone through this and was able to make it work somehow? Maybe and online/hybrid type program...I live in Melbourne, Florida.
