Any Advice Appreciated!

Hello! I recently graduated nursing school  this month with a BSN and am looking to taking the NCLEX within the next couple of weeks. I would really love to start in a new grad program. However, I have a trip to take my grandpas ashes back to the Philippines in July. This has been planned for years in advance and I do not want to miss it. I know many new grad programs only accept applicants within 6 months to a year from graduating and that they're extremely strict with the schedule. So, I haven't applied knowing that asking for time off wouldn't be feasible. Is 6 months too late to start a new grad program? Do you have any advice for someone in my position? Thanks!!

Some hospitals have varying start dates, and you could start in August.  Apply for the new grad positions and then see when the start dates are.

Many new grads have had trips plan ned prior to starting.
