I would lobby for more orientation. LTC is regulated more than a nuclear plant. Medicare regulations are very important in a SNF so I would try to review the different levels of care.
Last 11-7 is the less med intensive of all the shifts, which is the most challenging part of working in a snf, good luck.

hi everybody!!
i am new on this block! And most importantly a new in america. I trained and practices as a nurse outside the United States. i recently relocated to america and took the NCLEX which i passed.. i got this job in a rehabilitation center as an 11-7 RN with 2 CNAs... am a bit nervous because i am getting just about 3 days orientaion on the floor and then i will be on my own... things seem different in america and i would appreciate any form of advice as to what and what not to do on the floor.. i understand there will be a working supervisor but on a different floor..
