Has anyone else applied for AVC's LVN program and waiting for those acceptance letters that are suppose to be arriving some time this month?

I am just curious if anyone else is going the LVN route, to eventually bridge over into a RN program.

That's progress! Hopefully, the letter comes with good tidings. If this doesn't pan out, I am looking into transferring and going a different route altogether. So, I hope we get these letters soon!:nailbiting:

Hopefully soon  if you dont mind me asking what are your plans?

Hi! So, I just got a letter from AVC, but I am really confused. I don't know if it is a rejection letter, or a pre-letter letting us know that the admission status letters are coming.

I am trying to figure out a way to upload the letter, but I can't. Let me know if you get anything!!

I can private message you my email and you can send it that way..on my way to check my mail box eeek

I got one too it looks like a letter telling us whats going on ugh they had 49 complete packets on the first day?? i dont know this letter just made me more worried :nailbiting:

Hi so I'm talking to another girl in my class and she got a letter like ours but hers states that there was a lottery draw to determine priority and she didn't get in ..mine didn't state any of that ugh so confused now ...did yours say that?

No, my didn't state any of that either.

Dear Student:

This letter acknowledges receipt of your enrollment packet for the vocational nursing program.

I apologize for the delay in notifying you of your admission status. Antelope Valley College is in the process of going through its periodic review and approval process by the Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians (BVNPT). The BVNPT has a backlog of programs that are currently under review.

We received 49 complete enrollment packets on January 4 (the first day that packets were accepted) and we have space for 24 students to be admitted in the fall. Therefore, it is unlikely that we will have space to admit any students who applied after January 4.

Your enrollment packet will be kept on file in the Nursing Department until August 22, 2016. If you are not accepted for the fall, you will need to reapply for the program that is scheduled to begin in fall 2018. We anticipate accepting enrollment packets (by mail only) from February 5, 2018, through February 29, 2018. The forms will be available to pick up from the Nursing Department in December 2017.

Sincerely,

Elizabeth A. Sundberg RN, MN

Director/Chair, Associate Degree and Vocational Nursing

That is the letter that I received from them. I think I sent out my application on the 7th, because I was still waiting on my HS transcript when the 4th rolled around. So, as of right now, I am acting under the assumption I did not get in. I'm taking this as the rejection letter. I don't know what else to think other than that. When did you get your application in?

And was your friend perhaps one of the 49 applicants?

I had mine in in Saturday so I thought it would get there in time...it's when they say at the end "if you're not accepted in the fall" that confuses me. Have you called to confirm? Yes she was one of them she wasn't picked in the lottery.

No, I haven't called. I figure it's a rejection letter, I'll be kept on the list in the off chance someone decides not to attend, I could potentially get a call. I don't know how else to interpret it. Maybe it means we still have a chance? Are we maybe still being considered? So confused.

I'm not sure either, I have a summer class that starts next week so I'm going to go in with the letter and ask them and I'll let you know what they say

Okay! Let me know what information they provide you.
