Hello Everyone,
I was just checking to see if anyone knows of a book that specifically contains anesthesia careplans? If not, has anyone developed any care plans they would like to share? I appreciate your help. Thanks, Kathy, SRNA

A great resource textbook is by Jaffee, Anesthesiologist's Manual of Surgical Procedures. Not cheap, around $125.

I recently discovered a book called "Essence of anesthesia practice" by Roizen and Fleisher. It has one page summaries of anesthetic implications of diseases and procedures. About $80-90 range, I think.
I am familiar with Jaffee. It is a good reference, but you can get bogged down in the "surgical implications" if you don't watch it. After all what you want are the "anesthesia implications".
I also like "Anesthesia and Co-existing disease" by Stoelting. I am thrilled there is finally a new edition. It is very good for rare and unusual diseases, but also good for common conditions. Nothing about particular procedure implications, though.

Kathy,
You are welcome to my careplans, but I think you are further along than i am and may not find use with mine.
If you want them, pm me. I'm back from clinicals on Friday. My current clinical site is 4 hours away from home and for the next 3 months. Won't be checking this often.

There is also a great PDA program available from Skyscape called "The Manual of Anesthesia Practice". I would refer to it one the nights I was on call. It's a great reference, with tips that aren't in Jaffee.
